The river Wupper or Wipper has a funny play on words, so both are one and the same body of water just with a different name. From the source near Marienheide near Börlinghausen, a total of 15 kilometers to Wipperfürth, the 117-kilometer-long river is called the "Wipper". From Wipperfürth it flows on as "Wupper" until it flows into the Rhine near Leverkusen-Rheindorf. Exactly at the point of this Wipper-Wupper transition there is a small viewing platform with benches where you can sit comfortably and watch the rushing of the river. Several hiking trails such as the "Heimatweg" or the "Wupperweg" also start from here.
