Tips

  • Scout Jens

From the bridge, the Altrhein is easy to see. This hides otherwise largely behind dense vegetation.

Primeval forest right outside the front door - who still has to go to South America ?!

The bridge is like a starting point for the Treidlerweg, which you then walk in the middle of the Altrhein area. Great change between dense forest, fields and the Rhine.

Great view of the Old Rhine and at the same time roughly the starting point for the Treidlerweg.

This is very similar to the jungle on the Amazon.

Many water birds nest or raise their young here. When I got a little too close to a swan today, I was hissed at right away

Beautiful, easy hiking trail, often in the floodplain forests and along the Old Rhine.

Habitat for countless aquatic animals, it is an experience to hear and watch.

This bridge leads over the Michelsbach. If you look closely, you will see small and larger bodies of water hidden everywhere in the Hördter Auen, very idyllic!According to the Wiki, the Michelsbach is a flowing body of water in the Rhine lowlands in southern Palatinate and the common receiving water of several streams coming from the Palatinate Forest. It arises near Leimersheim in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Germersheim, flows north and flows into the Rhine from the left as Sondernheimer Altrhein near Sondernheim after a good 12 km.
