Denmark's second oldest rescue station from 1847.
When you call the number displayed on the front door, a recorded voice will tell you the code for the door. Worked great for me!
In the rescue station is the old lifeboat, a so-called "trouser buoy", with which sailors were rescued from the ship, harness, lots of information also in German ...
In front of the rescue station there is an old beach keeper's house, which was actually in operation until 1974.

Flyvholm Rescue Station is an unmanned exhibition that belongs to the museum in Lemvig. The rescue station was established in 1847 as one of the first stations in Denmark. This was also necessary on the "Iron Coast", as the west coast in Jutland was called by the pilots ..The rescue station is no longer operational, but in the station you can visit the large helm lifeboat and equipment. The team at the Flyvholm Rescue Station has saved more than 700 people from drowning, often using their own lives. The rescue station can be visited all year round and is open from 08.00 to 19.00.sonneundstrand.de/urlaub-daenemark/museen/flyvholm-redningsstation.htm

The rescue station houses a small museum. Most of the space takes the lifeboat "Flyvholm". On the walls you will find a lot of information, and hints on how to get on the Internet by means of an app on even more information material. The museum is unmanned. The door can be opened with the help of a numerical code. Ask for a flyer using a telephone number listed on this flyer. However, we did not reach anyone under the number. At the time of our visit, however, a card hung on the door with the numerical code on it so we could open the door. Not right the first time, but eventually succeeded. The next visitor, who tried a few times in vain from outside, then opened the door from the inside. :-)Very nice the silence in the museum, since only sporadic visitors. So you can let everything work on you in peace, the information has room to become in the imagination to moving images. Thanks to the support of the audio material on the info wall in the rescue station. Everything in German, English and Danish available.More information here: jernkysten.dk/Default.aspx?ID=1286&itemId=Fortaelling:25sonneundstrand.de/urlaub-daenemark/museen/flyvholm-redningsstation.htm
