Historical town hall of Meersburg with Ratskeller - through the archway one comes from Schlossplatz to the marketplace.

The town hall, built in the middle of the 16th century, is the headquarters of the municipal administration. The center of the town hall is the council chamber, in which court sessions used to take place. In addition, the council chamber was also used for representative purposes from the start, which is confirmed by the attractive furnishings to this day. The council chamber now also serves as a wedding room.

The Meersburg town hall was built in the 16th century. It is not certain whether the historical building served the purpose of the city administration at that time. Some old documents show that the Council was more likely to meet at other meeting places at that time. Between 1582 and 1583 the building was remodeled around the council chamber, which is still housed above the outer bailey gate. Further extensive renovations and extensions to the town hall took place in the course of the 18th century. In the course of this, the entire building was raised by one floor, in which a theater hall was finally set up.
