The monument Am Russenweg is dedicated to the prisoners of war Russian forced laborers who built the 5 kilometer long road from Rajen in Westrhauderfehn to Wiek in Papenburg during the First World War. Two display boards provide further explanations about the background and the region. A seating group gives the opportunity to take a rest. The place is located between Flachsmeer and Klostermoor on the street of the same name and is a comfortable destination for bike tours.

Memorial "As Far as the Feet Will Carry You."

Dedicated to the Russian prisoners of war who built this 5km road during World War I.

In memory of them, the road is named "Russenstraße." There is no Russian road at this point. Only much further down, towards Papenburg, is there a short stretch of Russian road.

At this point there is a poster on the history of the Russenweg as well as a sculpture, unfortunately already slightly damaged by vandals.
