I took a ride around Westoverledingen in sunshine and a cold east wind.



First, I rode along the remnants of the carnival parade in Papenburg, and then I took back home on side roads through Flachsmeer and on through Ihrhove and Steenfelde.

While only a few patches of snow remained along the roadsides in Papenburg and as far as Börgerwald, I was surprised by wintry road conditions on the secondary roads in the Hümmling region.



As always, I had planned the tour to avoid the main roads and hadn't expected so much packed snow on the roads

The roads were safe to drive on again, and the temperatures were also somewhat more pleasant as the cold east wind had subsided.



Only the fog and the resulting limited visibility were a bit unpleasant.



Nevertheless, the tour through Westoverledingen to Driever and back along the Ems dike was enjoyable and invigorating.

Today I was alone on many routes, rarely encountering other walkers or hikers, and even fewer cyclists. Even in Leer's old town and pedestrian zone, there were very few people around.

Today I took advantage of the sunny day for another ride on quiet back roads without any planning.



My first destination was the "Leher Wiesen" near Lehe, and then I crossed the Ems River near Dörpen on the B 401. It was a lovely stretch.

After running an errand at the pharmacy, I cycled along familiar routes to Stapelmoor in the Rheiderland region.



On the way back, I cycled via Diele to the dike on the Ems River and then home.

Today I followed in @Dieter's footsteps again (komoot.de/tour/2749760424?ref=atd), because I'd never taken that route to the Wilken Poelker bike shop before.



I took back roads through Steenfelde and Ihren to Ihrhove, then a short stretch along the East Frisian Hiking Trail before continuing cross-country

First ride after the snow and frost of the last few days.



First, I rode a loop around Westoverledingen, and then I ran some errands in Papenburg.



While running errands, Komoot gave me trouble, and I had to end the ride and then restart it, so it ended up being two rides.
