Currently, only half of the old Siemensbahn crossing over the Spree River remains. As part of the reactivation by the i2030 partners, this structure will also be rebuilt. Two consecutive tied-arch bridges are planned over the old and new branches of the Spree. The entire structure will be 144 meters long. Intensive coordination with the Waterways and Shipping Authority is taking place during the planning process. A good overview of the existing route can be obtained from the air. Siemens is expected to be building the Siemensstadt Square innovation and residential site by 2030. By the time the new district opens, the Siemensbahn will be running again on a 4.5 km stretch of the historic route. Here you can see the remains of the bridge over the Spree.
