For me, Wedekindplatz is something like the center of Old Schwabing. The square has been renovated and redesigned in recent years, and the results are impressive. It features an ice cream parlor, seating, and restaurants.

Wedekindplatz is located in Schwabing on Feilitzschstraße, where Siegesstraße, Marktstraße, and Occamstraße intersect.
The square is named after Frank Wedekind (1864–1918), a satirical and sarcastic poet who also worked as a journalist and cabaret artist. Wedekind was also involved with the satirical Simplicissimus and the weekly magazine Jugend, published in Munich in 1896, which heralded Art Nouveau. The square was named in 1959.
