The four large, compact stone figures that "sit" half-lying between amphorae in the middle of the four wing walls stand out as a bridge decoration. They symbolize the former four Bavarian tribes Bavaria, Swabia, Franconia and the Palatinate. The ravages of time are already gnawing at the figures - the inscriptions are difficult to read.

The Luitpold Bridge is a pretty stone arch bridge over the Isar, which was named after the Bavarian Prince Regent in 1901. The Friedensengel adjoins its east bank and Prinzregentenstrasse on the west bank.

A beautiful place that can be included in a small city tour. Few tourists but a lot of traffic 🤣
