"Am Brink" was once home to the large Engelhardt brewery. After it was taken over by the Binding Group in 1970, it was closed and the buildings were demolished in 1974. On the former brewery site, a.o. the adjacent parking garage. As a particularly interesting detail, a steam engine flywheel from the machinery of the former brewery was included in the design of the square.
