The 55-meter-wide Transylvania Boulevard (Bulevardul Transilvanei) was first constructed in this form in early 1987, when two apartment blocks were placed on rails and shifted approximately 70 meters to open up the view. A 7,600-ton section of the high-rise was shifted on May 27, 1987, in five hours and 40 minutes; the second, larger section was shifted on July 29, 1987, in six hours and 40 minutes. Now the view of the Holy Trinity Cathedral was clear.
