The large, free parking lot at the foot of the Red Gorge isn't easy to find. The path to the gorge begins, coming from Alba Iulia, at the edge of Lancrăm, immediately left after the roundabout and before the motorway underpass. The unpaved, sand-and-stone path is unmarked and difficult to spot amidst the pillars of the motorway bridge above it. It's a bumpy two kilometers to the gorge, which you can already see upon approach.
