The German Gymnasium Sebes had an interesting development in the school history of the city of Sebes.
...In 1724, under the patronage of the Evangelical Church, it opened its courses "School-Seminarium" with successive changes in the name: "Latin Gramatathical School", "Elementary School and Lutheran Gymnasium" (1780)....
....To the north of the Evangelical Church, a new school building was built in 1784. Between 1863-1869, the building was enlarged, the school still preserved the old inscription: BILDUNG ITS FREIHEIT (Culture is Freedom).
