At Alde Gott Marterl you can take a break and look out over the vineyards. The Marterl stands there because of a legend about the ALDE GOTT about the 30 Years War. According to the legend, a young man moved through the Sasbachwalden area. Everywhere only destroyed villages and farms. For days he wandered through the Black Forest without meeting anyone. He was alone and lonely. But then he met a young woman and exclaimed with relief: “The alde God is still alive!” That is why the people from Sasbachwalden wrote this sentence on a wayside shrine. It is, of course, at the point where the young man and the young woman are said to have met.
