Hiking

The Münztor received its name from the adjacent mint building. Schongau was already granted the right to mint coins in 1331. The Münztor was only created in 1904/05 through a breakthrough, expanded in 1953 for cars, and thereby created/opened the main traffic axis (Münzstraße) into the old town in the direction of Marienplatz and the Gothic Ballenhaus.
