    The St. Martin's Church is a real eye-catcher right on the Grote Markt. Like a beacon, this heritage gem looks out over the city center. The 83-meter-high tower is the perfect place to admire the Kortrijk skyline from above. You can visit the tower for free with a reservation. (ticketshop.kortrijk.be/exhibitions/register?id=1C4D5EEB-8AB4-EA11-A1A4-005056999076&shop=522FA1E8-BC23-4465-AAB0-FAB9941025FC&Language=NL) First you climb 246 steps. A tough undertaking, but the view more than makes up for it! Good to know: there is no elevator in the tower.
    The St. Martin's Church has a long history. It has been destroyed, rebuilt and renovated over the centuries. In its current version it was built between 1390 and 1466. It houses a wealth of works of art and a full-fledged 19th century carillon.
