The altarpiece in the Gothic choir of the Aegidien church dates from the 17th century. It shows the last supper. Baroque fresco paintings on the columns complete the nave, where Gothic and Romanesque elements combine. People have shaped and enlivened this church with their faith for centuries. Worship services begin at 9 a.m. on Sundays from April to October and at 9:30 a.m. from November to March.

The landmark of Thiersheim is the Evangelical Lutheran Church "St. Ägidien". It was built around 1200 as a fortified church.
By further numerous Um- and attachments, the church was a monument of unique architectural history. Already from a distance, the octagonal helmet can be seen in an onion shape, which sits laterally shifted on the hexagonal bell tower.
