The water tower Frillendorf was built in 1925, because (as is common in the Ruhr) by the mining of the groundwater level dropped and wells fell dry. A former water tank proved to be too low.
The Frillendorf Water Tower is built in the style of brick expressionism. It is about 13 m high and holds 2,000 m³ of water.
