The Hallopark has walking paths and a design in the form of loose groups of trees with old stock alternating with open land areas for local recreation. This design of the park took place after 1909. Before that, in 1899, a memorial tower was built in memory of Kaiser Wilhelm in what was then the "Hallogehölz", a piece of forest. It was badly damaged in the Second World War and finally demolished in 1971. This shows that there was a desire to offer local recreation as early as the 19th century. This function was further reinforced by the design of the park.Around the turn of the century, the "Gaststätte am Hallo" tourist restaurant was built, which still exists today and is functionally connected to the park and the tourist destinations of the memorial tower and the honorary cemetery, as is typical of the time. According to literature, the representative banquet hall of this period, built like a basilica, with an old bar, stage and dance floor, is still preserved in the tourist restaurant on Hallostraße.kuladig.de/Objektansicht/P-Schue-20081105-0006
