Best Hikes to Kamares Aqueduct (Bekir Pasha Aqueduct)

Tips

  • The aqueduct is not as old as one might expect: in 1746 the Turkish governor of Larnaca, Bekir Pasha, had it built to supply the city with water. Until 1939 the aqueduct was used, today it is a popular tourist attraction. In addition, the trail leads around the salt lake over here.

  • The Bekir Pasha Aqueduct is an old aqueduct in Larnaka on the island of Cyprus from the Ottoman Empire. The aqueduct is also called the Kamares aqueduct. The aqueduct is in pretty good shape and there is a busy road underneath. Wikipedia
