A small landmark in the old market square. It marks the spot where the Tsar and Tsarist couple first set foot on Finnish soil in 1833.
Otherwise, the view of Helsinki's two churches and the market hall is good from this spot.
I find the market itself more interesting and recommendable. In winter, it's very well-organized, with about 10 stalls, and a bit larger on weekends. Otherwise, according to one vendor, the market is huge in summer and worth a visit.
