Best Hikes to Uspenski Cathedral

Tips

  • The Uspenski Cathedral is one of the most important sights in Helsinki. The building is so impressive because it stands freely on rocks, clearly visible from all sides, on the edge of the harbor. The Orthodox church was designed by Alexei Gornostajew and consecrated in 1868.
The interior of the church is very magnificent and brilliantly decorated. The naves rest on massive granite columns and are lined with brightly colored mosaics and particularly beautiful icons.
    A visit is highly recommended.
