Kristýna Lake

Very beautiful lake with a clean and well maintained beach section and a fitness trail around the lake.

Recently, the infrastructure of the lake has been improved. The water quality is good and there is something for everyone in the gastronomy sector.

The popular Kristýna recreation area, with its lake of the same name, was created by lignite mining. Open-pit mining ceased in 1972 and was subsequently flooded. Since then, the lake has been used for swimming, fishing, and other water sports. The recreation area, with beaches, a campsite, and restaurants, was gradually developed in the late 1970s and early 1980s.The lake covers an area of approximately 14 hectares and its greatest depth is about 28 meters.The Kristýna Lake recreation area in Hrádek nad Nisou is known for its consistently good bathing water quality. It is also a good starting point for excursions
into the Lusatian and Zittau Mountains and neighboring Poland. Overnight stays
are possible at the campsite, in cabins, or at the guesthouse. The recreation area
offers bicycle and scooter rentals, as well as a high ropes course. For those who prefer flowing waters, boat rentals are available – the Neisse
can be canoed from Machnín to the German town of Ostritz.Inline skaters will also find plenty to enjoy in the area around Lake Kristýna.
