There is a tiny summit area on the Allerberg. It measures just 25 x 35 m. The castle complex, which probably once consisted of a lower and upper castle and was surrounded by a moat, was correspondingly small.
A description of the castle by the Eichsfeld local historian Carl Duval, who visited the castle complex in 1845, is known.

Hiking

Formerly located on a wooded hilltop and accessible via narrow paths, the castle ruins after the recent storms today rather naked and can be reached on wide back roads. On the one hand gained a better view, but lost some charm. But it remains a nice excursion or milestone destination.
