Hiking
The lock walls of the lock chamber are built with basalt stones, the other locks in the canal with bricks. Why can no longer be determined afterwards. A bicycle bridge is located over the chamber.
Historical explanation: The canal was built with private capital from 1825, officially opened on 13 April 1829 and was given the name Griftkanaal. The wooden lock was then 22 m long and 4.30 m wide.
