The slag mill was founded after the Thirty Years' War on the Koser. It was also called "Untercoßer-Mühle", "Mühle am Schlamphaufen" and "Cottenauer Grundmühle". In 1838 the slag mill was in operation as a grinding, cutting and hammer mill. In 1948, 30 tons of flour were ground every year. She also fell victim to the "mill dying".

Hiking

The place was first mentioned in writing in 1727, in 1752 by name as "Schlackenmühl". The place name refers to the former smelting of copper ore, which was mined in the Kupferberg mining area, which had its heyday in the 13th/14th century.

There are now "no entry" or "no entry" signs attached. The owners, like most of us, value their privacy. It shouldn't be difficult to stay on the path.
