The Schwedenkreuz standing at this place is a typical atonement cross. However, it did not originate - as the name would suggest - during the Thirty Years' War, but earlier, at the beginning of the 16th century. However, some Swedish soldiers were said to have been killed here in the Thirty Years War, whence comes the present name.

There is a round hole 5cm in diameter and 2.5cm deep on the upper longitudinal bar. (Soul hole?) According to old belief, the souls of the suddenly deceased met at crossroads or forks. The souls found their rest in the stones, which is why small holes were often chiseled in so that the souls could go in and out.
The stone cross is generally known as the Swedish Cross. The stone cross is believed to have been an atonement stone from before 1500 and, according to legend, a few Swedes were shot and buried here during the Thirty Years' War.

This stone cross is a typical expiatory cross. However, nothing more is known about its origins. The so-called soul holes, which are clearly visible in the upper part, are characteristic of a reconciliation cross.
