Beautiful fountain with 2 benches.

“In the past, the fountain was used as a washing fountain. 1754 expressly designated as one of the three wells in the village – Kallborn; 1772 Cold Born. It also served as a cattle trough.”

"This is a fountain system dating back to the Middle Ages, which is mentioned in the Trippstadt stock book of 1754 as one of the 3 fountains in the village." It is "not possible to say when the 4 large sandstone troughs were installed. In 1965 the system was restored by the Trippstadt construction company Ottmar Weber. [...]
The spring water flows from the fountain through a small trout pond into the Kaltenborner Bach.
In the upper part of the wall is a block of sandstone with the inscription 'Kalteborn', this inscription is probably older. [...] The facility is owned by the local municipality of Trippstadt." Source: information board on site

Kaltenborner spring, former wash fountain. The fountain was used as a wash fountain in the past. In 1754 it was expressly named as one of the three fountains in the village - Kallborn; in 1772 it was named Kalte Born. It also served as a watering hole for livestock.
