Not a shelter, but a kiosk! The canal basin has been transformed into a park zone in which each part of the quay has been given a specific function. For example, you can go there for a tasty snack or a refreshing drink, but you will also find places to relax. During events on and next to the water, it will serve as a kind of amphitheatre. In this way, the public space within the Blauwe Boulevard forms one high-quality whole. A grass slope with a height difference of approximately 4 metres has been constructed between the canal basin and the Thonissenlaan. Long wooden benches on this slope create a kind of amphitheatre with a beautiful view of the renovated marina. Between the grass slope and the Gelatineboulevard there is an asymmetrical staircase of approximately 30 metres wide with 23 steps. A kiosk has been built on the quay at the foot of the grass slope. Small events can be held here.
