Bikepacker’s Guide to Exploring Girona’s City Walls & HighlightsGirona is a legendary cycling hub, and an ideal stop for adventure cyclists — but when it comes to the iconic city walls, it’s best to go on foot.⸻🧱 City Walls – No Bikes AllowedThe Muralles de Girona are beautiful but narrow, steep, and stair-heavy — not suitable (or allowed) for bikes. Lock up at Jardins dels Alemanys or nearby and take a relaxed walk. The views over the terracotta rooftops and cathedral towers are stunning, especially at sunset.⸻📍 Must-See Highlights (Walkable once parked):
• 🏰 Girona Cathedral – Towering over the old town
• 🕍 Jewish Quarter (El Call) – Atmospheric, maze-like, full of history
• 🌉 Eiffel Bridge – Red iron footbridge built by Gustave Eiffel’s team
• 🧖♀️ Arab Baths – Quiet, cool, and centuries old
• 🌿 Jardins dels Alemanys – Green space right by the wall trail, great for a break⸻🔧 Recommended Bike Shops for Adventure Cyclists:
