Hiking

The Old Bazaar of Korçë dates back to the Ottoman era and is one of the most charming places in the city. Here you get an ideal picture of daily life in Korçë and the rich cultural and commercial history of the region. About 500 years ago, this was already an important trading center for the city, today you walk through a maze of narrow streets and alleys, lined with traditional Ottoman buildings.
After a major fire in 1879, it was rebuilt. It has about 138 cultural monuments and is also known as the Bazaar of Serenades.

The old bazaar has been spruced up since its renovation. Much of its oriental flair and bustle were lost: the market bustle gave way to cafés and shops. In return, the old houses are now beautifully restored.
