With today's wonderful weather, I absolutely had to put in a few kilometers on my bike and test out a new (supposedly pain-free) saddle. Since I haven't cycled north in a long time, I chose the charming town of Xanten (steeped in Roman history) and the natural paradise of Bislicher Insel in the Rhine

I'll probably remember today's tour for a long time. Firstly, it was very warm, and I had to cycle in blazing sun through the shadeless countryside almost the entire way back. That was quite exhausting.
Secondly, I had very mixed feelings afterward. On the one hand, there were beautiful sections (Kettwig

LG🤗🙋♂️

Once a year, I make a private pilgrimage to the Chapel of Grace in Kevelaer to thank the Mother of God for my health and many other blessings. Since I'll be going on vacation by car soon, I also took the opportunity to pray for a safe journey. I enjoyed the tour itself. Along the way, I was able to admire

I've been thinking about where I should take the tour this time. I've already clocked up over 22,000 km, so I've practically ridden everything in my area several times. Since I really wanted to see something new, I reluctantly used Deutsche Bahn and took the R10 train to Kleve. Unfortunately, my preconceived

Today was my first midsummer ride (32 degrees Celsius) this year. Of course, I felt the effects. Every shady forest section was welcome. Otherwise, just drinking plenty of fluids helped somewhat. Due to extensive construction work and road closures, I had to detour the planned route through Geldern and

The weather was much better today (only a few drops of rain, but a strong westerly wind), so we were able to take a spontaneous bike ride to the eastern end of the island. It was definitely worth it. The path through the natural paradise (Wadden Sea National Park) and the landscape – a feast for the

After the persistent rain, the sun returned today, and we were able to take a closer look at the island of Langeoog. It's easy to get there by ferry and island railway. It's a different world without cars. Only bicycles rule the island. Life flows calmly, slowly, and comfortably here. All the stress

Before my Whitsun short break (without a bike), I really wanted to go for a nice bike ride. According to the weather forecast, today was the last dry opportunity. Starting tomorrow, the skies are supposed to "cry again." After considering the route, my destination is picturesque Hülchrath with its old

After the stormy days, wonderful late summer weather finally arrived today. Perfect for cycling: hardly any wind, pleasant temperatures, and plenty of sunshine. Going for a nice bike ride was a must. The only question was where? My choice—after much deliberation—was the Erft Cycle Path, which I absolutely
