Two trees growing together is a fascinating natural phenomenon! This phenomenon occurs when branches or trunks of trees of the same species lie close together or on top of each other. The thin bark plays an essential role in this. Friction causes the branches to move back and forth, which rubs off the bark and exposes the cambium. The cambium is responsible for the thickness of the trees. Over time, the tissue fuses and the branches permanently connect to form a single branch. This phenomenon is particularly common in common beeches, plane trees, field maples and hornbeams
Nature always has amazing surprises in store, and such overgrown trees are definitely an impressive example of this! 🌳🌿
