The Bastei on the banks of the Rhine in Cologne's Neustadt-Nord district was built in 1923-1924 according to plans by Wilhelm Riphahn.
The Bastei is currently being extensively rebuilt and renovated by the city of Cologne. During construction work, the Bastei is closed and not available for events.
