Mariahilfer Church, Vienna
From 1711 the church was built in its present form according to the plans of Franziskus Jänckl: in 1714 the choir sections were rebuilt and the nave was built, in 1715 the towers of the west facade - facing today's Mariahilfer Straße - were finished in shell.

The pilgrimage church “Assumption of Mary” was built in 1656 as a cemetery church for the cemetery of St. Michael’s Church. In 1660, the Barnabite Don Cölestin Joanelli donated the famous image of Mary Help of Christians. On April 19, 1660, Prince-Bishop Count Philipp Friedrich von Breuner consecrated the wooden cemetery chapel with the image of Mary Help of Christians, a copy of the original by Lucas Cranach (in Innsbruck Cathedral).
