It's a fine example of a building in the 19th-century Gothic Revival style, very popular in Germany—it's full of sharp arches, balconies, bay windows, and slender towers, as well as ceramic coats of arms. The entrance to the building is decorated with figures of men: allegories of crafts, fishing, trade, and science.

Today, it houses the Maritime Administration.

The New Town Hall, also known as the Red Town Hall, is located in Stettin's New Town. Its construction became necessary because the old town hall on Heumarkt had become too small. The foundation stone was laid in November 1875, and construction was completed in January 1879.
