Between Tiefenbronn, Heimsheim and Friolzheim, in the middle of the Heckengäu, there are three unique natural oases - the nature reserves (NSG): Betzenbuckel, Tiefenbronner Seewiesen and Silberberg. At 154 hectares, the NSG Betzenbuckel between Friolzheim and Heimsheim is the largest of the three areas. The NSG Betzenbuckel serves primarily to protect the rare juniper heaths with their gentian-shaded meadows.
