The tour starts very leisurely with a short ferry crossing over the Bodden. The ferry takes about 50 minutes from Barth to Zingst and is not a challenge, even for landlubbers like me 😉
The tourist center of Zingst is left behind for now; I'm drawn to the eastern part of the peninsula, which belongs to

Unfortunately, the train schedule only granted me 3.5 hours for my excursion.
That's quite little, and so I hurried through the old town alleys with the pretty houses towards the harbor.
The cityscape is dominated by the mighty, sacred buildings in the typical brick construction style.
Only the tower of

Historic cobblestones in Lübeck and beautiful, hilly forest paths on the eastern shore of Ratzeburg were on the route today. And hundreds of hikers (Ostseelauf Lübeck, 34km), who were heading in the same direction as me for about 10 km on the narrow paths 🫣😆

The generously laid out mountain park above Kassel, which has held UNESCO World Heritage status since 2013,
has a lot to offer with its palace, Hercules monument, and Löwenburg castle. Most visitors, however, come for the water features, which only take place on Wednesdays during the week.

Bomb disposal in Pforzheim 💣and my domicile is in the evacuation zone😬 ...nothing like getting away 🏃 Just to be safe, I retreated far into the Nagold valley🤭 and visited the beautiful town of Nagold and its old castle again (inspired by @Natalie 🤗). And the fact that the castle kiosk was open

The first highlight of our tour was right at the start at the mighty 65m high dam of the Schwarzenbachtalsperre, with a crest length of 400m, located in the municipality of Forbach in a side valley between the Schwarzwaldhochstrasse and the Murgtal. Completed in 1926, the reservoir serves as the upper

A few weeks ago, when we were on a similar mission, we discovered the still-budless rhododendron garden above Heidelberg. That's when the idea arose to come back again at the right time.
This time we relocated the start to HD-Rohrbach, where at the end of the village, a historic trail immediately went

The not very steep ascent on fine gravel from the Eyachtal up to Dobel has long been one of my favorite routes😆
At the height between Dreimarkstein and Dobel, directly on the Westweg, lies the natural monument Volzemer Stein. A collection of high piled-up Bunter sandstone rocks and debris, which were

The trail network in the Northern Black Forest between the Enz and Eyach valleys mainly consists of wide forest roads with fine gravel surfaces. What seems rather boring for hikers is all the more fun for cyclists 😁 And so it went from the Eyachbrücke S-Bahn station up a long climb to the Boxenstopp

The Tuscany of Germany, the Odenwälder Bergstrasse located between the Rhine plain and the Odenwald with its mild climate, its early seasonal bloom, its castles and its historic town centers was our hiking destination today. In glorious spring weather, the 4th stage of the "Bergsträßer Blütenweg

We start at the Hochdorf Celtic Museum and, for a better overview, first climb the burial mound.
The panoramic view shows us a cloudless sky apart from a few familiar landmarks, only a few condensation trails disturb the blue😊
A blooming rapeseed field adorns the path to the forest, where we encounter

On the Würmtalradweg into the Heckengäu, back through the Nagoldtal, that was the plan.
To complete the century, there was a small bonus in the Enztal to Eutingen and the "Drei-Täler-Tour" (Three Valleys Tour) was ready😊

From Heilbronner Trappensee, we three hiking friends hiked over the Böckinger vineyards 🍇 in initially still fresh, but later early summer weather🌞 high above the Geo and Nature Trail to the Galgenberg at an altitude of 312m. The gem and nature reserve of the Schilfsandsteinbruch, always directly below

The tour on the Hochuferweg over the Königstuhl to Sassnitz should actually have started in Lohme, but the 14er🚍 let me down😏
So an extra 7km was added right away, but after coffee and chocolate cake at Café Niedlich in Lohme, the world looked better again 😆
And at the latest when the chalk cliffs flash
