The grotto has existed for 270 years. There was also a way of the cross to the grotto, but it was burned down again.

After starting at the small parking lot, it went past the beautifully designed small church "to the scourged Savior" right down on the trail with the red cross on a white background, on a gravel path into the forest. To the right past beehives and meadows to the left, we reached after 600m the first highlight of the tour: The throat chapel! Built in 1749 by Georg Winkler in a pyramid-shaped sandstone block, the chapel used to be a pilgrimage site with a sacrificial floor. The niche above the altar was used to store a wooden carved image and the excavation under the altar was reserved for the sacred tomb. 24 square meters in size and almost 2 meters high, this "Teufelsstein" rises beside a crucifixion scene and two picture stones for Blessed Irmengard and brother Klaus.
