Weimar Market Square

The market square - meeting place for locals and tourists. The parlor of the city has many sights such as the town hall, the Cranachhaus or the Neptune fountain to offer. Monday-Saturday there is a fruit and flower market with bratwurst stalls and many tourists.

There is always something going on here. A colorful market bustle of various traders blends seamlessly into the surrounding architecture, which is extremely interesting.The square and the surrounding area are also extremely interesting with regard to the history of the last great royal houses, whose places of activity are in the immediate vicinity.

Initially, Herderplatz, north of today's market square, was the center of Weimar, but as the city expanded from around 1300, today's market became the center of society and trade.The town hall has now been freshly renovated and looks really great.
