When Aalen became an Imperial City in 1360, this chapel had already been replaced by the parish church of St. Nicholas, first mentioned in 1340. […]

The heart of the Protestant parish of Aalen is the town church of St. Nicholas.

The collapse of the tower at the end of the 18th century meant that a completely new building had to be built. This resulted in one of the rare examples of a Protestant church in the Baroque style.
