Radobýl (399 m a.s.l., German Radebeule) is a neovolcanic mountain in the Bohemian Central Highlands. It is located on the right bank of the Elbe north of Žalhostice and three kilometers west of Litoměřice. The hill gained its typical silhouette by removing a large part of the western side.The hill is located on the territory of the protected landscape area České středohoří, and its south-facing part is protected as a natural monument of the same name. The reason for the protection of the area is dry lawns with the occurrence of rare plants and animals, which include various species of butterflies and butterflies.

Radobyl basalt hill rises above the Elbe river near the town of Litoměřice. It is unmistakable from a distance, both because of its typical shape and because of the massive iron cross that adorns its top. Monumental Mountain is interesting for several reasons. One of them is the fact that it became fatal for the poet Karel Hynk Mácha. And who wouldn't know…..It was late evening, the first of May 😀👍🍀
