Anne-Marie 'Lily' van Oost from Huise was married to Gaston de Gerlache, with whom she had five children.

She was barely 17 years old when the war broke out, but together with her brother Henri she joined the resistance. In 1944, the Nazis discovered that her family was involved in the resistance and Lily eventually ended up in the Ravensbrück concentration camp, where a total of 2,300 Belgian women had to endure hell. Lily barely survived and later became an important witness to the horrors of war. She died in 2020 at the age of 96 and thanks to her there is a monument for the women of Ravensbrück in Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe.
