Because during the last ice age, during the Middle Ages, the rabbit had almost disappeared in our region, but it was highly sought after game (both for meat and for the sake of fur), the fathers and gentlemen of the village imported the rabbit again. .
They built rabbit hills, like this is probably one of them. Because the earth here is somewhat clayey and loamy, and therefore less easy to dig through, people helped the rabbits by making their own burrows.
When hunting the rabbits, a ferret was used, which chased the rabbits out of their holes... where a safety net awaited them.

From these rabbit mountains the animal became feral and its spread into our areas started (in the 13th century).
