The five-arched sandstone bridge from the island of Großer Unterwöhrd to the former Unterwöhrds-Tor was built in 1516 and, together with the Red Bridge as a continuation next to the Henkersbrücke, represented an important connection between the old town and the suburbs beyond Kocher. Despite modern renovations, the original appearance of the bridge has been preserved, making it an important witness to the bridge construction of the late Middle Ages.
