the Bernikower Gate, got its name from the village of Berniko, today it is called Brama Barnkowska and the Barnkowo district. It was built in the 14th and 15th centuries on a rectangular floor plan. Its upper part is octagonal and is crowned by a pointed helmet.

Chojna received in 14./15. Century city fortifications. This was supplemented by 3 gates and numerous defensive towers and watchtowers. Despite considerable war damage, the city wall in Chojna remained almost complete and is now a listed building.
