This former town hall is located on the winding Hogestraat next to the church: the basement once housed the cachot (run by the local constable?) and the fire hydrant (probably not in one room...). still the old fire bell. Beautifully decorated facade (technical term: Neo-Renaissance style). At the time, the council chambers for the College of Mayor and a few aldermen were on the first floor. The building (a municipal monument) was transformed in 1999 into 'a voluminous and neatly maintained' residential house 'with contemporary comfort'.

Hiking
The council and polder house (Hogestraat 26) is an L-shaped building from 1891, built in a rich neo-Renaissance style and designed by J. Groenendael. The basement housed the prison and the fire engine. The council chambers for both the Mayor and Aldermen and the Polder Board were located on the first floor. The building was fitted with an extension in 1953 and renovated in 1990.
