Refunc specializes in 'out of the box' thinking, Refunc also designs and builds itself and can therefore work optimally with the available material. Refunc gives existing materials, components, objects and spaces a different function with as little added energy as possible.

On location, they found the transition from the water to the land and the forest a good starting point. Initially, they wanted to reuse the concrete rubble from the site themselves to manufacture their own designed blocks on location, but that turned out to be logistically and therefore not financially feasible.

The choice then fell on the new x-blocks of the BAM. These were originally designed for coastal protection. You can also build harbors with it. By placing these blocks as a 'land jewel', by allowing them to crawl out of the water and placing them deeper in the forest, we believe we have succeeded in connecting the water with the land. They had three blocks made in such a way that they can be used as benches to enjoy the view of the place.
