A younger merchant stands on a fully loaded donkey and hands the older merchants a bale. He wants them to do more. But the two veterans stand on a pile of sacks, turn away disinterestedly and obviously have no interest in the young trader's views. The city stream babbles below the two brick pillars on which the figures act.
The group of sculptures was erected as “art in architecture” in October 1987 on the occasion of the opening of the Kreissparkasse in front of its main entrance by the sculptor Karl-Henning Seemann.
