As the name suggests, the Große Reitsteig is quite a long trail. There are many beautiful views along the way. It is also quite isolated; I didn't meet any other hikers on a slightly rainy Sunday afternoon.

The Thorwalder Walls form a long, narrow rocky ridge. The Große Reitsteig trail mostly runs above or along these rock faces and offers spectacular views into the Kirnitzsch Valley and to the Zschandstein rocks opposite.
